Delhi: The South African team will prepare against Zimbabwe before the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia starting on June 11. The goal of this match will be to get rhythm in red ball cricket and keep pace with the circumstances of England.

This will be South Africa’s first red-ball match after winning 2–0 in the domestic Test series against Pakistan in January 2025.

At the same time, Zimbabwe’s team recently landed in the only Test played against England at Trent Bridge, which was their first Test on England soil in the last two decades. In this historic match, England won by an innings and 45 runs, but for Zimbabwe, the match was memorable in many ways.

Let us tell you that Zimbabwe will play against South Africa without his senior players Sikander Raza, Blessing Muzrabani and Richard Angrava, but there is a good balance of other experienced and young players in the team.

This practice match is not only an opportunity to prepare for the final for South Africa, but will also prove to be important for Zimbabwe as a rehearsal of the two-Test series against South Africa on domestic soil in June-July.
