Delhi: The ICC World Test Championships (WTC) Australia and South Africa teams are set to confront each other in the finals of 2023-25. Earlier, South African veteran Pacer Enrichia has hoped his team’s victory.
Northern, who has taken 70 wickets in 19 Tests, has given 2 main reasons, due to which he is expecting to win the first ICC men trophy of South Africa after 1998.
Northern has described the circumstances of England and especially Lord’s ground as South Africa friendly. He said, “Lords have always been a good field for us. We have won 5 of the last 7 matches here. Defeating England by an innings in 2022 is a big example of our recent success.”
South Africa made a tremendous comeback after losing the series to Australia in January 2023. The team has won 5 of the 7 Test series after this and 1 draw. It was defeated only in a series against New Zealand, where the team did not land with all its strength.
Northern appreciated the role of coach Shukri Conrad, saying, “The coach has brought new energy and strategic changes to the team. All the players have contributed at different times and the team has always played with the intention of winning.”
