30-year-old Corbin Bosch took four wickets in the first innings of his Test career against Pakistan and then scored unbeaten 81* while batting at number 9. Bosch broke a 122-year-old record on his Test debut against Pakistan in Centurion.
This was the first time that a batsman, debuting at number 9, scored more than 80 runs in Test cricket. With this, Bosch became the first South African player to score a half-century and take four wickets on debut in Test cricket.

Bosch’s brilliant innings
When Bosch came to bat, South Africa’s score was 213/8 and their lead was only two runs. He formed important partnerships with Kagiso Rabada and Dan Patterson and strengthened the lower order. Bosch’s innings included 15 fours, due to which the hosts’ score could cross 300 runs.
