Delhi: The South Africa cricket team will play a four -day practice match before the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final 2025. The match will be against Zimbabwe in the Undeld Castle Cricket Ground (Sussex) of England from June 3. This match is considered to be an important part of the preparation of South Africa as the team is participating in the WTC final for the first time.
South Africa will take on Australia from 11 June
The South African team will field in the WTC final against Australia at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from 11 June. There is tremendous enthusiasm between the two teams about this match. South Africa played their last Test series against Pakistan in January 2025, in which they registered a 2–0 win.
Preparation and recent performance of Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe recently played a historic Test match against England after 22 years, although he lost by an innings and 45 runs in that match. In this exercise match, Zimbabwe will not have some important players like Sikander Raza, Blessing Muzarbani and Richard Nagarwa. But the team will have experienced players like Sean Williams, Craig Ervin, Clive Mandande, Victor Nayouchi and Bennett, which can make the match challenging.
South Africa will visit Zimbabwe
After the practice match, the South African team will visit Zimbabwe, where both teams will play a two -match Test series from 28 June. The last time both teams came face to face in December 2017, where South Africa won by an innings and 120 runs.
