Delhi: The third and last match of the three-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan will be played on Sunday, i.e. 22nd December, at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, but before the match, the host team has suffered a big setback. Proteas team’s star fast bowler Otneil Bartman is out of this match due to knee injury.
Bartman has been ruled out of the third ODI due to a problem in his right knee. He suffered this injury during the run-up while bowling before the second ODI in Cape Town on Thursday. Due to this, Bartman was rested in the second match.
Although, it was expected that he would be fit by the third match, but his condition worsened, after which he was declared unfit for the final match. Bartman bowled brilliantly in the first ODI of the series, taking 2 wickets for 37 runs in 7 overs. Now he is likely to return in SA20 2025, where he will play for Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Corbin Bosch included
All-rounder Corbin Bosch has been included in the team in place of Otniel Bartman. Bosch, who recently became a part of South Africa’s Test team, is expected to make his debut against Pakistan in the Boxing Day Test.
It is noteworthy that by winning the first two matches of the ODI series, Pakistan has taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 and captured the trophy. Now South Africa will try to avoid a clean sweep by winning the last match and end the series respectably.
