Delhi: Team India’s legendary cricketer Virat Kohli has ended his eight -year -old relationship with Sports Brand Puma (Puma). In the year 2017, there was an agreement between Kohli and Puma, which is now over during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. According to reports, Puma tried to make him a brand ambassador again, but Kohli refused.
Why did Kohli separate from Puma?
It is being told that Virat now wants to pursue his own brand, One8. For this reason, he has joined hands with the Indian Startup Agilitas. Soon this partnership may also be an official announcement. It is also reported that Kohli can take a stake in this company.
Who is Agilitas?
Agilitas was started by Abhishek Ganguly in 2023, who has been the first managing director of Puma India. This company has also bought license rights of Italy’s famous brand Loto in India, South Africa and Australia. Now Virat Kohli wants his brand One8 to be spread in India and abroad.
Virat’s further planning
According to reports, One8 will be launched again and it will be made a global sports brand. It will emphasize footwear and sports wear. There is no such big Indian sports brand in India at present, so Kohli wants One8 to fulfill that deficiency.
A source said, “One8 will now be bigger in India in collaboration with Agelitas. More retail stores will open and the brand will be taken to the international level.”
What did Puma say?
Puma said on this separation, “We will continue to invest sports in India as a sports brand and bring forward the new generation players.” At the same time, it has also been revealed in the reports that Puma had offered Virat for Rs 300 crore for the next eight years, but Virat turned down him.
