SRH’s head coach blamed Hyderabad’s pitch for being out of IPL 2025.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s performance in IPL 2025 was no less than a nightmare. The team’s previous match was against the Delhi Capitals, which ended without any conclusion and the Pat Cummins and Computes out of the Top-4 race. Hyderabad is the third team to be out of the playoff race after Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing season.

Meanwhile, SRH’s head coach Daniel Vettori described Rajiv Gandhi Stadium’s pitch condition as the reason for the team being out of the IPL. He said that domestic conditions were not in line with his expectations and domestic pitches were presenting a challenge for his batsmen.

Daniel Vettori said on a press conference after the match was rained against Delhi Capitals,

“I certainly did not say after every match that I am supporting aggressive approach. I said that we are assessing the circumstances and this year, the circumstances were not the same as we expected. If you look at the previous year, there were many high -score matches. Trying to understand what to do.

Let me tell you, in the last IPL season, the teams scored 200 or more runs out of 14 innings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. But in the ongoing season, only four times in 11 innings have crossed the 200 runs. Vetori believes that the pitches are more favorable for fast bowlers.

“There are two surfaces that have been more than 250, and there are four that may have been more favorable for fast bowlers. Not so much for the spinners, but the new ball has been a little sticky, it is difficult to hit, it is not on the bat. There are some of the best new balls in the world in the IPL and they were able to take advantage of those situations.”
