Delhi: New Zealand’s 32 -year -old woman all -rounder Hele Jenson announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday. He made his debut for White Ferns in 2014 and with this, his 11 -year brilliant career came to an end. Jenson proved his utility in both ODI and T20 formats and recognized it as a trusted all -rounder.

Hele played a total of 88 matches in his career and took 76 wickets. She was known as a middle order batter and medium pace bowler. In an emotional statement, Jenson said, “When I was 10 years old and played my first cricket tournament, I had decided that we had to wear white ferns jersey. That dream was the biggest honor of my life.”

He further said, “This journey taught me combative, gave life -long relationship and gave me a chance to do something big. It is difficult to leave this game, but I know that the time has come now.”

Hele Jenson won the ‘Player of the Match’ award by taking 3 wickets against Sri Lanka in the 2020 T20 World Cup. Two years later, at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he bowled deadly in the bronze medal match against England (3-24) and played a key role in winning a medal to New Zealand. Jenson participated in the four T20 World Cup (2014–2023) and also included in the 2022 ODI World Cup squad.

With the retirement of Hele Jenson, the women’s cricket team of New Zealand has lost a promising player. At the same time, talk about white ferns, so this year was nothing special for them. In March this year, he suffered a 3–0 defeat against Australia in a three-match T20 series.
