Star fast bowlers arrived at practice session: easing Team India’s concerns before Oval Test.

Delhi: The ongoing Test series between India and England is now moving towards its last and most important match. The Oval Test is a ‘do or die’ contest for India. Meanwhile, a well-known face again appeared in the team’s practice session, that is star fast bowler Deepak Chahar.

Deepak Chahar has not played Test cricket for India yet, but on Wednesday he bowled on the nets with the team at the Oval ground in London. He is helping the batsmen preparing to face England’s pace attack.

This is not the first time when Chahar is seen in the role of backup support in this series. He was also seen practicing with India during the third Test played at Lord’s. At that time, he had informally bowled long and practiced the Indian top order.

Deepak Chahar has not yet been officially included in the Test Squad. Nevertheless, he is playing an important role in the preparation of the team, especially at a time when many fast bowlers of India are struggling with injuries.

The shadow of injury to India

Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh were out of the fourth Test and now Jasprit Bumrah can also be comfortable in the last Test. Bumrah’s knee is being reported to have a slight injury, which has reduced his chances of playing.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has also been out due to thumb injury. Dhruv Jurlel has been replaced in the final XI. At the same time, Narayan Jagdishan has been added to the team as a batting backup. However, the bowling department still looks weak.

In such a situation, Deepak Chahar’s involvement in the practice is going to give relief for the team. His swing and exact line-length gives batsmen in England’s circumstances a chance to practice good practice.

Team India will come out to save the series

India is currently 2–1 in the five-match series. A match has been a draw. In such a situation, it is necessary to win the Oval Test so that India can avoid losing the series. The last Test was drawn in Manchester, in which India saved the match by batting for five consecutive sessions for the fourth and fifth consecutive days.

However, there was some stir even before the Oval Test. Indian coach Gautam Gambhir got into an argument with the ground curator Lee Fortis, causing the atmosphere a little tense before the match.

Now it has to be seen whether India is able to eliminate the series on equal or not under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. But one thing is certain that the help given behind the screen of players like Deepak Chahar can prove to be very beneficial for the team.
