In this, veteran all -rounder Deepti Sharma played an unbeaten 62 -run match winning innings. His brilliant batting played an important role in bringing India to the target. Deepti shared a 90 -run partnership with Jemima Rodrigues and raised the team from crisis.

Deepti Sharma believes that the Indian team is moving in the right direction for the preparations for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. He said, “As far as the preparations for the World Cup are concerned, we are on the right path as a team. We have done well against Sri Lanka and England so far. There is still time in the World Cup, so we are focusing on the same match at a time.”

The foundation of victory became partnership with Rodrigues

Describing her calm style as her strength, Deepti said that while chasing the target, restraint and patience are most important. He said, “I knew that I could move the game forward by being calm and patience, when I was batting with Jemima (Rodrigues), our focus was on partnership and scoring 5–6 runs in every over, and we were successful in it.”

Australia will compete before World Cup

The Indian team will play a domestic ODI series against Australia from 14 September before the World Cup. This will be an opportunity to further strengthen the preparations of the series team. The Women’s ODI World Cup will start from September 30, in which India will play its first match against Sri Lanka.

Nazar on England series at the moment

However, Deepti also made it clear that the current priority of the team is the ongoing series against England. He said, “The World Cup is still far away, our entire focus is on the current series. We are taking every match as an opportunity and trying to perform better.”
