Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for a huge sum in the IPL 2025 mega auction. CSK spent Rs 9.75 crore on Ashwin. On this, head coach Stephen Fleming said that his team can use Ravichandran Ashwin in many ways in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Ashwin is the most experienced offspinner in IPL.
This is the homecoming of this star spinner in the five-time champion team. He has played for Chennai Super Kings before also. R Ashwin was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 9.75 crore. Ashwin was not expected to get such a huge amount, but CSK wanted him at any cost. CSK wants to add those players to its team whose skills can be used on the Chepauk pitch.
Ashwin, who debuted for CSK in 2009, was part of the team’s title campaigns in 2010 and 2011. After that he also played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. For Ashwin, his old franchise Rajasthan Royals tried hard, but CSK won in the end. LSG and RCB had also shown some interest in him.
