Delhi: Taking an important decision by Cricket South Africa, Patrick Moroni has appointed Moroni as the new convenor selector of the team. Recently, the South African team defeated Australia and won the title of ICC World Test Championship 2025. Now the team has to go on a tour of Australia and before that the board has made this big change in the selection committee. On July 17, the appointment of Moroni was officially announced by the board.

Will take over from August 1, will be 3 years old tenure

Patrick Moroni will take over his position from 1 August 2025 and his tenure will be of three years. He has more than two decades experience in the cricket selection process. Moroni has been playing the role of selector since 2001 and recently he has worked for the South Africa Under-19 team.

Many talents were also attached to the National Academy

While working for the South Africa Under-19 team, he gave a chance in the team to emerging stars such as Quenna Mafa and Luan-Drape Pritorius, who have made their mark in international cricket today. Apart from this, Moroni has also been associated with the National Cricket Academy of South Africa, where he played an important role in the development of young players.

Expressing happiness over the appointment of Moroni, South African National Team director Anoche Encway said, “His deep understanding of the game, the amazing ability to identify the talent and years of experience suits him for this important position. Moroni will now report to Director Encway and Head Coach Shukri will work with Konrad.”

5 -match T20I series will play on Australia tour

The team with the green jersey will now start preparing for the tour of Australia, where a 5 -match T20 series will be played. Its first match will be held on August 10, while other matches will be played on August 12, 16, 19 and 22 respectively.
