Delhi: India’s legendary batsman Cheteshwar Pujara said that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has always been preparing the pitch according to its strength. He said that if the team’s head coach Stephen Fleming says that CSK does not get any benefit at the home ground, it surprises them. Speaking to ‘ESPNcricinfo’, Pujara said, “Franchises like CSK have always been preparing pitch according to their strength. If the flaming is saying this, I feel strange.”
CSK difficulties
CSK recently lost by 50 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Talking about this, Pujara said that the middle order of the team will now have to take more responsibility. Players like Deepak Hooda, Shivam Dubey, Sam Curren and Mahendra Singh Dhoni perform well in the middle order, only then the team can get strength.

Pujara gave an example of a big franchise like Mumbai Indians, CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and said that these teams have always been getting pitches of their choice. He believes that these teams always get the circumstances they need while playing on the home ground. He said, “Mumbai Indians, CSK and KKR always ensure that they get a pitch of their choice.”
CSK batting decrease
Pujara expressed concern over CSK’s batting and said that there are some weaknesses in the middle order of the team. Apart from Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad, the team needs further improvement in batting. He said that if the middle order does not perform well, then there may be difficulty in long tournaments like IPL for CSK.

Pujara also said that it is the biggest grief for the staunch fans of CSK that the team completely gives up. He said, “CSK fans must have been very sad today. You can lose, but the manner in which this match was lost will be very disappointed in the dressing room as well.”
