Delhi: The Indian cricket team’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is currently out of the ODI team. He played his last ODI for India in 2023. His performance in T20 format has not been much special. Now he landed for Mumbai in the quarter -final match of Ranji Trophy 2025 and failed there too.
Suryakumar Yadav also failed in Ranji
Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the batsmen have proved this decision wrong. The team lost six wickets before 100 runs. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was able to score a total of 9 runs off five balls and Sumit Kumar’s ball was bowled.
Suryakumar’s bat did not run in the T20 series. He scored only 28 runs in 5 matches at an average of 5.40. Due to this, he had to suffer a lot of criticism. Also, there have been reports that Hardik Pandya can be handed over the captaincy of the team.
Poor form of concern
Surya’s recent performance has been disappointing. In the five T20 matches played for India, he was dismissed twice for zero. He scored just 2 runs in one match, while in other matches he played 14 and 12 runs.
His performance was not special even for Mumbai. On December 21 last year, he scored 20 runs against Karnataka, while on 23 December he was able to score only 18 runs against Hyderabad. They could not even open an account against Punjab and Puducherry.
Shivam Dubey also failed
Even Shivam Dubey, who is batting for the Mumbai team, could not do anything special. He scored 28 runs in 32 balls, including four fours and a six. At the same time, captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 31 runs.
