Delhi: Former Fielding Coach of Team India T Dileep is all set to join the national team once again. Dileep, a resident of Hyderabad, has been given a one -year temporary extension for the tour of England. He will go on a tour of England with India’s Test team next month.
T Dileep’s contract increased
Dileep’s contract was over in May and it was believed that BCCI would no longer further his agreement. According to sources, some support staff including Dileep and batting coach Abhishek Nair were already told by the board that his term is ending.
These coaches are considered close to Rohit Sharma. Ever since Gautam Gambhir started playing an important role in the coaching setup, it has also been in the discussion that he is in favor of the small and effective team. For this reason, Dileep and Nair were removed.
But, now it is reported that Rohit Sharma celebrated both BCCI and Gambhir that Dileep should be maintained with the team. Rohit may have retired from Test cricket, but he personally spoke seriously to keep Dileep. After this, Dileep was re -included in Team India for the tour of England. At the same time, Nair himself has left coaching and continued to work with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Earlier it was believed that Ryan Ten Doshet would be made a fielding coach instead of Dileep, but now he will remain in the role of Assistant Coach.
