Delhi: A historic moment was seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, when Rajasthan Royals (RR) gave just 14 -year -old young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi a chance to debut in the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Vaibhav, who came out to play in place of injured captain Sanju Samson, became the youngest player to debut in IPL history.
Interestingly, Vaibhav was born in 2011, while IPL started in 2008 itself. In this way Vaibhav became the first player born after the start of the IPL, who participated in the tournament.
Not only this, Vaibhav made his debut more special when he hit a six on the first ball of the match. India’s veteran fast bowler Shardul Thakur, and Vaibhav, were bowling, sent the first ball across the boundary in a fearless way.
Suresh Raina’s fun comment
Former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star player Suresh Raina, who was commenting during the match, made funny comments on Vaibhav’s debut, saying, “I (at the age of 14) were doing homework, and my teacher made me cock in Ghaziabad!” Hearing this, Raina started buzzing loudly in the commentary box.
It is worth noting that Vaibhav Suryavanshi not only made history by debuting the youngest in the IPL, but also proved that he has both encouraged and ability to play on the big stage by hitting a six on his first ball.
