Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team will tour Australia for a three-match ODI series starting from 5 December 2024. The selectors have announced the team for this series, in which Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil have not got a place.
Shafali’s performance in the ODI format this year has been very disappointing. In the last ODI series against New Zealand, he scored only 56 runs in three matches at an average of 18.66 and strike rate of 133.33. During this period, his scores were 33, 11 and 12 runs. Throughout the year, he played a total of 6 ODIs and scored 108 runs at an average of 18.00, which did not include a single half-century.
At the same time, Harleen Deol and Richa Ghosh have returned to the team. Harleen last played for India in December 2023. She was ruled out of the WPL due to a knee injury, while Richa Ghosh could not be a part of the New Zealand series due to her board exams.
Leg spinner Asha Shobhana and fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar have also not been included in the team. Both these players were injured in the T20 World Cup. Minnu Mani has got a chance in the ODI team for the first time and fast bowler Titas Sadhu has also got a chance.

It is noteworthy that the first two matches of the ODI series will be played on 5 and 8 December at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, while the last match will be played on 11 December at WACA Ground, Perth.
