Mitchell Starc gave an early shock to India by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal LBW on the first ball of the match. After this, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill made a partnership of 69 runs, but both of them could not last long in front of Starc’s deadly bowling.

India lost the wickets of Rahul, Kohli and Gill within 16 balls. Pant and captain Rohit Sharma also could not do much. In the end, Nitish Reddy scored quickly to take India to 180. In this match, Starc kept the Indian team on the backfoot from the first ball, whether it was dismissing Jaiswal on the first ball of the match or taking the first five wicket haul against India. Starc bowled out all four wickets for India in the first innings and took 6 wickets for 48 runs.
