India’s test performance in 2024

India’s losing streak in the home Test series started in 2024. For the first time after 12 years, India had to face Test series defeat at home. New Zealand defeated India 3-0 in the three-match Test series on India tour in October-November. After this the Indian team had to face criticism. Due to this defeat, Team India’s path to reach the final of the World Test Championship became difficult.

However, initially India drew the Test series 1-1 against South Africa. Then India won the series against England 4-1. Bangladesh was also defeated 2-0. After the loss to New Zealand, the Indian team is on Australia tour, where the Border Gavaskar Trophy is being played. After the first three Test matches, the series is tied at 1-1. The fourth test will be played from 26th December and the last test will be played next year. Now it remains to be seen whether India can win the Test even at the end of the year or not.

India’s ODI performance in 2024

India played only three matches in ODI format this year. On the Sri Lanka tour, India played a three-match ODI series, in which the first match was tied, while Sri Lanka won the remaining two matches and India lost the series 0-2. This was the first time since August 1997 that India lost an ODI series against Sri Lanka.
