Delhi: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United has suffered a major setback. The team’s Australian all -rounder Matthew has been ruled out of 10 due to short injury. Confirming this on Sunday, the franchise said that the short will no longer participate in the tournament and he has returned home.
According to Islamabad United, the initial recovery from short injury was good after reaching Pakistan. But, recently he felt pain again, due to which it was decided to withdraw from the competition in view of his situation. United and Cricket Australia (CA) medical staff jointly approved this decision.
The team said in a statement, “We were cautious about the fitness of Matthew Short. However, they recovered to a large extent, but recently he had a problem again, which he needs a rehab.”
Matthew Short has now returned to Australia, where he will go through a rehab process under the supervision of Cricket Australia’s medical team. Islamabad United wished the short recovery of the short and said, “We pray for their better health and quick return. He is an important part of our team and we will feel lacking them.” After the shortage of the short, United will have to search for a new player in his place.
