Delhi: The first match of the three-match ODI series between West Indies and Bangladesh was played at Warner Park in St. Kitts. In this match, Bangladesh batted first and scored 294 runs losing 6 wickets in 50 overs. In response, West Indies won by 5 wickets thanks to Sherfane Rutherford’s brilliant century and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Rutherford scored 113 runs in 80 balls with the help of 7 fours and 8 sixes, which was the first century of his ODI career. He was also chosen player of the match.

Bangladeshi batsmen made big scores
For Bangladesh, captain Mehdi Hasan Miraj played brilliant innings of 74 runs, opener Tanjeed Hasan scored 60 runs and Mahmudullah played brilliant innings of 50 runs. With the help of these three half-centuries, Bangladesh scored 294 runs in 50 overs. Romario Shepherd took maximum three wickets for West Indies.
West Indies won despite bad start
West Indies did not have a good start while chasing Bangladesh’s target. The first three batsmen, Brendan King, Evin Lewis and Casey Carty were out soon. West Indies’ score in 21.4 overs was 94 runs at the loss of 3 wickets.
After this, captain Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford made an important partnership of 99 runs. Hope played an inning of 86 runs, which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. When he was out, West Indies’ score was 194 runs. Rutherford scored 113 runs and took the team to 288 runs, then he too was out.
