Delhi: South Africa achieved the distinction of winning the T20 series after two years by defeating Pakistan by 7 wickets in the second match of the three-match T20 series. Opener Reeza Hendricks performed brilliantly and scored a century of 117 runs in 63 balls, due to which the host team easily achieved the target of 206 runs.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 206 runs for five wickets in 20 overs, thanks to opener Sam Ayub’s unbeaten 98* runs. However, Ayub missed completing his century as he did not get a chance to play the last nine balls of the innings.
South Africa have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, their first T20 series win since August 2022. In this match, both the teams together scored 416 runs, which happened for the first time in their mutual T20 history.
At one time in South Africa’s innings, the team had lost two wickets for just 28 runs. After this, Hendricks along with Rassie van der Dussen made a big partnership of 157 runs for the third wicket. Dusen played an unbeaten inning of 66* runs in 38 balls. Captain Heinrich Klaasen scored unbeaten eight runs in five balls and led the team to victory in 19.3 overs.
For Pakistan, Sam Ayub scored unbeaten 98 runs in 57 balls with the help of 11 fours and five sixes. The innings of captain Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam could not be very big. Irfan Khan scored 30 and Abbas Afridi scored a flamboyant 11 runs.
In South Africa’s bowling, De Gallium and Otniel Bartman took two wickets each, while George Linde got one wicket. The third and last T20 match will be played in Johannesburg on Saturday.
