Delhi: Famous New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill has announced his retirement from international cricket. 38-year-old Guptill contributed to New Zealand cricket from 2009 to 2022. During this period he played 367 matches and represented the team. Guptill scored 23 centuries in international cricket and made many records in white ball cricket.

Guptill’s excellent figures in T20 and ODI

Guptill has been the highest run-scorer for New Zealand in T20 International cricket. He scored 3531 runs in 122 matches. At the same time, he has been New Zealand’s highest run-scorer in ODIs also. Guptill scored 7346 runs, although he remained behind Ross Taylor and Stephen Fleming.

Memorable debut and records

Martin Guptill’s debut in international cricket was also special. In 2009, he scored a century in his first ODI match. This century came against West Indies at Eden Park. After this he got a place in the ICC World ODI team.

Record breaking innings and important performances

Guptill played many memorable innings during his career, including his record score of 237 runs against West Indies in the 2015 ODI World Cup. This innings is the biggest ODI innings from New Zealand. Apart from this, Guptill scored 2586 runs in 47 test matches.
