Delhi: Virat Kohli is considered one of the greatest batsmen of world cricket, especially in number 3. He has scored a total of 27,599 runs in his international career, out of which 15,303 runs he has been batting at number 3. During a conversation with Mayanti Langer in an interview, Kohli told how MS Dhoni and Gary Kirsten inspired him to bat at this place and what was his thinking behind it. At that time Dhoni was the captain of the Indian team and Kirsten was a coach.
Kohli said, “I was very appropriate about my abilities, because I saw many other players playing and I did not think my game was close to their level. I had only one thing – resolution, and if I want to win my team, I was ready to do anything.”
He further said, “That is why I got opportunities to play for India in the beginning. Gary and MS clearly told me that we support you to play at number 3, and this is the role you can play for the team, the energy and participation that you show on the field, that is the biggest value for us.”
The right -handed batsman said, “I have never been seen as a player who can win a match alone. But, I had the feeling that I would always be in fighting, will not give up, and he supported this thing.”
Virat Kohli is currently 36 years old. In the IPL, he is still a legend who has played for the same team, who has played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
