Delhi: Former India opener Virender Sehwag strongly criticized the batting of veteran all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Jadeja was sent to number 4 in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), but he could score only 21 runs in 17 balls. Sehwag objected to his strike rate and how to play.
“Waiting for the tournament to end”
Talking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag said, “I had already said that I am feeling like going home in the middle of the tournament. Perhaps CSK batsmen feel the same. He is just wondering when the tournament will end and when it will go home.” He said that one batsman should have taken responsibility.
Question on weak strike rate
Sehwag disappointed Jadeja’s batting and said that his strike rate was useless. “Try to last at least 15th or 18th over,” he said, Jadeja was bowled by Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis. In this season, Jadeja has scored 166 runs in 9 innings and has an average of 27.67, but the strike rate has been only 125.75, which is quite low in today’s T20 cricket.
Questions also about batting order
Sehwag was also not happy with CSK’s batting order. He did not understand why Sam Karan was sent to number 3. He said, “Sam Karan has batted above in the first LT20, but when you have a dewald bravis in this team, it should be sent to number 3.”
Brevis shines on his debut
In his first match for CSK, Dewald Brevis scored 42 runs in 25 balls, including a four and four sixes. His wicket was also taken by Kamindu Mendis a great catch. Shivam Dubey scored 12 runs in 9 balls, while Deepak Hooda contributed 22 runs in 21 balls.
The entire team of CSK was all out for 154 runs. After this, SRH won the match by 5 wickets. This was CSK’s seventh defeat in this season and now the team seems almost impossible to reach the playoffs.
