This title is held by Aryaman Birla, who is the son of famous industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla. Aryaman joined the fashion and retail division of Aditya Birla Group as director in 2023. He is also on the board of Grasim Industries and Aditya Birla Management Corporation. However, today he is in the news because of his business. But, there was a time when Aryaman was dreaming of becoming a cricketer.
Aryaman Birla’s cricket career
Aryaman was born in July 1997 in Mumbai. His journey in cricket started from Madhya Pradesh. He made his debut against Odisha in Ranji Trophy in 2017 and could not score much runs in the first match. But, in 2018, while playing against Bengal at Eden Gardens, he scored an unbeaten 103 runs. This innings gave him recognition as a skilled batsman.
Got IPL contract but did not debut
On the basis of his performance, Aryaman got the IPL contract for Rajasthan Royals in 2018. However, despite being a part of the team for two seasons, he could not play a single match. In 2019, due to injury and mental pressure, he decided to take an “indefinite break” from cricket.
Retired in 2019
Aryaman wrote on Instagram, “I have faced every stress till now, but now the time has come to give priority to mental health. “I want to understand myself better and learn new things.”
After leaving cricket, Aryaman returned to his family business and now he is the owner of assets worth about Rs 70,000 crore.
