Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is the most discussed, it is Digvesh Rathi, a young player of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He is famous with his tremendous bowling, but more than that he is in the headlines due to his unique celebrations. After taking wickets, his “notebook celebration” has now become everyone’s favorite. However, because of this, he has also got fine.
Initially, Digvesh used to act to write something on his hand after taking wickets. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) objected to this and also imposed fine. Even after this, he did not leave the way of celebration, just changed the style slightly. Now he acts to write something on the ground.
What do Digvesh write?
In a recent interview, Digvesh told what he actually writes. He said, “Nothing special. I just write the name of the batsman in front. Like I had dismissed Priyansh Arya of Punjab Kings. He is my good friend. We were having some fun among us.
When asked that now that it has been fined, why still write, Digvesh said, “There are rules of BCCI, we cannot go against them. So now I write names on the ground and there are some secrets, which I do not want to tell.”
Bowling and inspiration from Sunil Narayan
Regarding his bowling, Digvesh said that his focus is to bowl well. The responsibility given by captain Rishabh Pant is fulfilling it.
He told that he was initially a batsman. But, after getting tired after batting, he used to start bowling. One day he heard the name of Sunil Narayan in the commentary. The commentator had said that if someone can save runs in the over, then he is only Sunil Narayan. Since then, it was curious to know Digvesh who is Sunil Narayan. He saw Narayan’s bowling and tried his copy. In the first time, the ball was not played with the batsman and from here Digvesh adopted that ball and now he became his profession.
