Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 11 runs.
The fifth match of IPL 2025 was played between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 25 March. Punjab had set a target of 244 runs in front of Gujarat by batting first. In response to this, Gujarat chased the target, losing 5 wickets in 20 overs, scoring 232 runs and Punjab registered a stunning victory by 11 runs.
Punjab Kings’s innings condition-
Batting first against Gujarat Titans, Punjab got the first blow on a score of 28. Opener Prabhasimran Singh was dismissed for 5 runs in 8 balls. This was followed by a pair of Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer. Debutant Priyansh played a brilliant innings of 47 runs in 23 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Ajmatullah Umarjai (16), Glenn Maxwell (0) and Marcus Stoinis (20) could not play big innings.
Shreyas Iyer and Shashank Singh shared an 81 -run partnership. Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant innings of 97* runs with the help of 5 fours and 9 sixes in 42 balls at a strike rate of 230.95. At the same time, Shashank Singh played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs in 16 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes in 16 balls at a strike rate of 275. For Gujarat, Sai Kishore took three wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. At the same time, Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan took 1-1 wickets.

Gujarat Titans got a good start, chasing a target of 244 runs. In the sixth over, Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed by making 33 in 14 balls and the team got the first blow on the score of 61. The pair of Sai Sudarshan and Jose Butler again worked to keep the team in a strong position. Sai Sudarshan scored 74 runs in 41 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes and Jose Butler scored 54 runs in 33 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. But the team finally lagged behind 11 runs and could only score 232 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs.
