Bumrah will play in Lord’s Test
In fact, Team India had already decided that Bumrah would be allowed to play only three Tests throughout the tour. The BCCI medical team took this decision in view of Bumrah’s workload. At the time of selection, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar gave this information.
In the first Test, Bumrah took five wickets while bowling brilliantly. But, before the second Test, Team India was 0–1. Despite this, Shubman Gill and Coach Gambhir decided to keep Bumrah out. At the time of the toss, Gill said, “Bumrah has been rested only for workload management. The next Test is in Lord’s, where it would be better to feed him.”
By the end of the first day of the second Test, India scored 310 runs for five wickets. Captain Shubman Gill scored the second consecutive century in this match.
