India gave a crushing defeat to Sri Lanka
Batting first, Sri Lanka set a target of 174 runs in 50 overs. Sharujan Shanmuganathan (42) and Luckwin Abeysinghe (69) together took the team to a respectable score, but it proved to be insufficient for the Indian team. The Indian team, while chasing the target, made a fast start.
Mhatre- Suryavanshi show
Ayush Mhatre gave momentum to the innings by playing a strong inning of 34 runs. At the same time, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his excellent form and played a explosive inning of 67 runs in just 36 balls. Captain Mohammad Aman and KP Karthikeya took the responsibility of ending the match. In the end, captain Aman hit a powerful six to not only lead the team to victory but also took India to the final.
Pakistan lost
Defending champion Bangladesh performed brilliantly and secured a place in the final by defeating Pakistan by seven wickets in the first semi-final. Chasing a modest target of 117 runs, captain Azizul Hakim scored an unbeaten 61 to help the team win in just 22.1 overs. Earlier, Bangladesh bowlers performed tremendously. Iqbal Hussain Amon took 4 wickets for 24 runs, due to which Pakistan’s entire team was reduced to just 116 runs in 37 overs. Farhan Yousuf (32) and Mohammad Riazullah (28) struggled for some time for Pakistan, but due to poor shot selection the team could not score big.
Result of both matches by 7 wickets
India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets. At the same time, Bangladesh also defeated Pakistan by only seven wickets. Due to this, ‘7 wickets’ remained common in the final result of the match of both the neighbors (India-Pakistan). But on one hand India got victory and on the other hand Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat.
