Delhi: The fourth international cricket stadium of the state will soon be prepared in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. A total of Rs 236.40 crore will be spent on this project. The state government has given the green signal to this ambitious scheme and the process of its construction has been started rapidly.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream project

This stadium of Gorakhpur is one of the dream projects of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Taking steps towards ‘Uttam Pradesh’, the government has given priority to the development of sports. The foundation stone of this stadium to be built in Tal Nadore region of Gorakhpur will be laid soon.

Stadium characteristics

The stadium will be constructed according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and other global standards. It will be two -storey and there will be a total seating arrangement of 30 thousand spectators. Seven main pitches and four exercise pitches will be made in it.

Multipurpose use facility

The stadium has been designed in such a way that it can be used not only for cricket, but also for other major cultural and social programs. It will be a multipurpose complex equipped with modern features.

Stadium to be built on 50 acres of land

The entire stadium campus will be spread over 50 acres of land, out of which the main stadium will be constructed on 45 acres and other necessary facilities will be developed in the remaining 5 acres. The construction work has been targeted to be completed in 18 months.

Extension of sports facilities in the state

Earlier, international cricket matches have been held in Kanpur and Lucknow. An international stadium is also under construction in Varanasi. This new stadium in Gorakhpur will strengthen the state’s sports structure and provide international sports facilities to the youth.
