Delhi: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a young opener of Rajasthan Royals (RR), caught the attention of the entire country by performing a bang in the Indian Premier League (IPL) of 2025. At the age of 18, he created a new history by scoring a century off 35 balls. When he returned to his native village Tajpur (Samastipur, Bihar), the villagers strongly welcomed him with flowers, garlands, applause and drums.
Cakes celebrated by cutting cake
A special program was held in his honor in the village where celebrations were celebrated with a cake written “Welcome Back to Home”. This boy, who once played cricket in the narrow streets, has now become the star of the country. As soon as he returned, the children, elderly, friends and neighbors of the village gathered in large numbers.

Talent has been shown before
Earlier, Vaibhav had caught the attention of the selectors by scoring a century from 58 balls in a young Test match against Australia. After the IPL, his performance gave him a place in India’s Under-19 team. Now he will represent India in 5 ODIs and 3 four-day matches on England tour.
Story of Vaibhav’s thinking and hard work
Vaibhav showed his hard work in a conversation with head coach Rahul Dravid. He said, “I had been preparing for 3-4 years and now the results are in front. The things that seemed difficult now seem easy. Nothing like a natural game, has to be played according to the need of the team.”
Coach Rahul Dravid’s advice
Rahul Dravid advised Vaibhav to be vigilant. He said, “This year’s performance was excellent, but next year the bowlers will come with more preparation. So we will have to do more hard work and smart training.”
