Delhi: South Africa has announced its 15-man squad for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan. Kagiso Rabada has returned to this team, who will play ODI for the first time after the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup against Australia.

Kwena Mafaka joined the team for the first time
South Africa has included 18-year-old Kwena Mafaka in the ODI team for the first time. Mafaka performed brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup this year, taking 21 wickets at an average of 9.71 and became the best player of the tournament. Apart from him, Marco Jansen, Otniel Bartman and Andile Phehlukwayo have been selected as fast bowling all-rounders in the team. However, Enrique Norkhia is out of the team due to a fracture in his toe.
return of big names
Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller have also returned to this team led by captain Temba Bavuma, who played the last ODI against India in December 2023. Apart from this, Keshav Maharaj and Tabrez Shamsi have also returned to the team.
Champions Trophy preparation
South Africa has announced its strong team in preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025. White-ball head coach Rob Walter said, “We have selected our strongest team. “Every player has the potential to be a match-winner on his day, and we are looking forward to the performance of this group.”
Event and Venue
Three ODI matches between South Africa and Pakistan will be played on 17, 19 and 22 December. These matches will be held in Paarl, Cape Town and Johannesburg respectively. The special thing is that the third match will be South Africa’s annual Pink Day ODI.
