With this match, New Zealand’s legendary fast bowler Tim Southee said goodbye to Test cricket. He had already announced his retirement from Test cricket and bid farewell with victory.

Saudi’s name is included among the great bowlers of New Zealand. He performed brilliantly on domestic and foreign grounds and led the team to historic victories many times. Saudi, who made his Test debut in 2008, is second among the bowlers who have taken the most wickets for New Zealand. He took a total of 391 wickets in his Test career, while ahead of him is Richard Hadlee, who took 431 wickets.

Saudi also captained New Zealand, where he led the team in 14 Test matches. Under his captaincy the team won 6 matches, lost 6 and 2 matches were drawn. Saudi was a part of the historic team which won the Test series in India 3-0. He left the Test captaincy before the India tour. However, now he has retired from Test cricket, but it is not decided whether he will continue playing in the limited overs format or not.

Tim Southee is the highest wicket taker for New Zealand in international cricket. He has 716 wickets in his name, which includes 391 in Test, 221 in ODI and 164 in T20 International. He played an important role in helping New Zealand win the ICC World Test Championship title in 2021.

Apart from bowling, Saudi also left his mark in batting. He scored 2245 runs in 107 test matches, which included 7 half-centuries. He has 98 sixes in his name in Test cricket, which establishes him as the fourth player to hit the most number of sixes. Saudi, who played international cricket for New Zealand for 16 years, said goodbye to Test cricket with this memorable victory.
