Delhi: Indian batsman Virat Kohli has admitted that his innings in the last 2-3 Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy were not as per expectations. After scoring a century in Perth, Virat scored 7 and 11 in Adelaide, while in the Brisbane Test he was out after scoring just 3 runs. Due to this, the pressure on the Indian team increased, and India had to face defeat in Adelaide. However, the Brisbane Test was a draw due to rain. Now the series is tied at 1-1 and the Boxing Day Test has started in Melbourne.
‘Don’t talk to him laughingly’, why did Kohli say this to Siraj? Know the whole matter
Last innings were not as they should have been
Before this match, Virat Kohli while talking to Ravi Shastri on Fox Cricket said, “The last two or three innings were not what I wanted. Like I said, I haven’t been disciplined enough to hang in there and work hard. This is the challenge that Test cricket brings.”
He further said, “Compared to the last time he played in Australia, the pitches now have become faster. These pitches look different from last time. Therefore, we have to adopt a new approach. I feel proud that I play in different situations and when the team needs me, I step up.”
Virat’s statement on mental condition
Virat further said that the team is in a good condition mentally. He said, “Expectations are always there, especially when you play for your country and perform well for a long time. It is important that you understand your plans and know where you stand.”
If runs are not scored then questions will arise
He said, “Whenever India is in need, there is one or the other batsman standing for the team, in such a situation the role of each batsman also increases and everyone seems willing to play well. When you play for your country, you have to perform consistently and if you do not perform consistently, questions will be raised against you.”
