Delhi: On the first day of the Melbourne Test, Australian batsman Sam Constas left his mark by scoring a brilliant half-century. However, during his innings, there was a dispute with former Indian captain Virat Kohli. After the 10th over of the match, Virat hit Constas on the shoulder, due to which he had to face huge punishment. Match referee Andy Pycroft considered Virat guilty and ordered him to deduct 20% of his match fee.

Virat admitted his mistake

After the end of the day’s play, Virat Kohli had to appear before the match referee, where he admitted his mistake. However, it is a matter of relief that Virat has been given only one demerit point, due to which there will be no ban on his playing in the next match.

Despite this incident with Virat, Sam Constas batted amazingly. This 19 year old young player scored 60 runs in 65 balls in his debut test and also hit two big sixes against Bumrah. Along with Usman Khawaja, he made a brilliant partnership of 89 runs in 19.2 overs.

It is noteworthy that by scoring a half-century at the age of 19 years and 85 days, Constas became the second youngest player to score a Test half-century for Australia. He was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. Only Ian Craig is ahead of him in this list, who achieved this feat at the age of 17 years and 240 days.
