Delhi: A day after a sudden retirement from Test cricket, Indian veteran Virat Kohli along with his wife Anushka Sharma reached Vrindavan on 13 May. During this, he took blessings from his spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj. Kohli and Anushka have been his followers for the last few years and come from time to time to get spiritual guidance.

Virat’s visit took place when there is mixed reactions from all over the country on his decision to retire from Test cricket. It is being told that Kohli had already informed BCCI about his decision. However, some reports also said that a senior board official was trying to convince him for the upcoming five -Test series of England, which is starting from June 20.

Virat’s test career

Kohli started Test cricket in the year 2011 and now bid farewell to this format by scoring 9,230 runs in 123 matches. His average was 46.85 and he scored 30 centuries and 7 double centuries, which is a record for any Indian batsman. As captain, he won India in 40 of 68 Tests, which makes him India’s most successful Test captain.

Kohli’s decision has come at a time when Rohit Sharma has retired from the Test recently. In such a situation, there is a huge lack of experience in India’s Test team, especially before the new cycle of the World Test Championship.

Vrindavan Yatra is being seen as a private and spiritual moment for Kohli and Anushka. In the last few years, both of them have visited spiritual sites many times, especially when there has been a big change in their lives.
