Delhi: Former Australian opener Justin Langer recently selected the best batsmen of world cricket and declared Virat Kohli as the best. However, after scoring a century in Perth in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli could not perform well in the second and third matches, but despite this, Langer surprised the cricket world by calling the Indian batsman better than other great players.
Decision on Rohit Sharma’s retirement may come soon, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar reached Melbourne
Justin Langer, 54, said, “Virat Kohli has a great variety of shots. Along with this, his leadership ability and fitness is also the best among Indian batsmen.
Langer further said, “I am saying this because Kohli’s shots are very impressive. His cover drive and hook shot are praiseworthy, but recently you have seen how accurately he sees the ball. His ability to run between the wickets and set an example for fielding.”
The former left-handed opener said, “His leadership style is also excellent. Keeping all this in mind, I consider him to be the best batsman in modern cricket.”
