Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has credited former captain Virat Kohli for a major change in the style of bowling in Indian Test cricket. He said that Kohli’s aggressive captaincy and his passion on the field filled the team new energy.

In a recent episode of RCB’s podcast, Bhuvneshwar appreciated Virat Kohli’s leadership, saying, “The way Virat captained Test cricket, I will give him full credit for him. His aggressive nature on his field and passion for Test cricket impressed the whole team. The same intensity was necessary for the five -day Test match, and the same was also spread in the team.”

Between 2014 and 2018, Bhubaneswar, remembering the time spent with the team under the captaincy of Virat.

The right -handed fast bowler played the last Test for India on a tour of South Africa in 2018. Although he has been out of the Test team in the last few years, he is still counted among the best swing bowlers in the country.

On a possible return to Team India, he said, “I don’t think much whether I have to return or not. I am doing what I have been doing till now. If the performance is good, then what is to happen, it will be. I just have to focus on my small processes.”

In IPL 2025, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has proved to be an important bowler for RCB. He has taken 12 wickets in 10 matches played so far. His bowling has been particularly impressive in Powerplay and Death Overs. Bhubaneswar has an economy rate of 8.92 and strike rate 19.
