We proved we’re a great team: Shubman Gill

Delhi: Against England After drawing the fourth Test match played in Manchester, the confidence of the Indian cricket team has increased considerably. Captain Shubman Gill described this match as a ‘historic moment’ and said that the last day performance reflects the greatness of the team.

After trailing by 311 runs in the first innings, India lost two wickets without scoring any run at the beginning of the second innings. In such a situation, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul shared 188 runs for the third wicket and brought India to a strong position. Rahul played an important innings of 90 runs.

Gill said in a conversation with BCCI.com, “It is very difficult to maintain a mentality for 140 overs. The same difference is the difference between a good team and a great team, and we showed that we are a great team.”

Circular batting of centuries saved the match

Gill played a wonderful innings of 110 runs, but when he was out, India had to take two more sessions. In the absence of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, this work seemed even more difficult. After this, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar took the front. Both batsmen scored a century and did not give any success to the England bowlers in the last two sessions of the day.

The right-handed batsman further said, “The bowlers were getting help, but the restraint and confidence he batted is really capable.”

Now the chance of equal in the series

India now has a great chance to equal the five -match Test series. England are currently 2–1 ahead and the last and decisive Test match of the series will be played at The Oval ground in London from Thursday. Team India will descend confidently in this match.
