Delhi: England cricket team managing director and former batsman Rob Ki has given a big update about the future of star all -rounder Ben Stokes in cricket. He said that Stokes will not play in limited overs format in the near future. According to Rob, the priority at the moment is that Stokes can fully fit and play the role of an all -rounder in Test matches.
In a podcast shared by Sky Sports Cricket, 45 -year -old Rob’s Rob said, “I don’t think he will play in the near future. Our full attention is on to fit Ben completely. Our fast bowling coach Neil Kilin is working with him and Ben is just 75 percent fit and he has started bowling.”
According to Rob Ki, England Management is preparing his Test captain for the Test series to begin against Zimbabwe from 22 May.
The former right-handed batsman further said, “He is a great captain and batsman, but we need him as a real all-rounder. A player who can contribute with both the bat and the ball. This is our goal (our goal (Zimbabwe Test and future red-ball for cricket).”
Rob said, “If he stays fit and performs well, no one can stop the return. If a player is among the best players in the country, he is never completely out.”
