Delhi: Indian cricket team veteran batsman Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Now, if former captain Virat Kohli also gets out of the Test series against England after Rohit, then it will be a big shock for India. According to reports, Virat Kohli has told BCCI that he wants to leave Test cricket. Rohit and Virat have been the most trusted players of Indian batting for the last ten years. Without them, the experience of the team will be reduced considerably.
India’s possible playing XI without Rohit and Virat
If both Rohit and Virat are not in the team, then KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will be the most experienced batsmen. Some people believe that Cheteshwar Pujara can be given a chance again. But, it seems very difficult because India usually does not give the senior players who have been dropped before.
Sai Sudarshan has recently performed brilliantly and he can make a Test debut against England. If Virat does not stay in the team, then Sudarshan can get a chance to bat at number four. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul can open. Shubman Gill can play at number three. Rishabh Pant will be at number five and Dhruv Jurael can also join the team.
There is talk of Karun Nair’s return, but this is a little difficult to happen. He has played well in domestic cricket, yet BCCI may not give him a chance. Sarfaraz Khan’s name is also going on, but Shreyas Iyer can get a place on number six. His game can be useful for the team in the middle order.
Nitish Reddy can be included in the team as an all -rounder. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh can be selected in fast bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav may be the only spinner in the spin department.
