Delhi: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to begin on February 19. The tournament will be played in the hybrid model, in which India and one semi -final matches will be held in Dubai, while the remaining matches will be held in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. Pakistan will enter the tournament as its defending champion and will play the inaugural match against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi on 19 February.
In a special conversation, West Indies cricket veteran Chris Gayle also gave his opinion that which team is a strong contender to win. Gayle said in a conversation with sports, “India is a favorite for winning any championship or trophy.”
The ICC has divided the teams into two groups. Group A stars Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B consists of 2023 Cricket World Cup champions Australia, Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
India, which was the finalist of the previous edition, will launch its campaign against Bangladesh on 20 February. Subsequently, his second league match against Pakistan will be on 23 February. India’s third league match will be against New Zealand on 2 March.
