In the show ‘Running Between The Wickets’, AB de Villiers has once again expressed his desire to return to cricket.
AB de Villiers Cricket Return: Former South African captain and legendary batsman AB de Villiers has hinted at returning to cricket after retirement. De Villiers retired from international cricket in 2018, but was playing in the IPL. However, after the 2021 IPL season, he surprised the fans by retiring from all formats of cricket.
Actually, the reason behind his retirement was the problem with his eyes. De Villiers (AB de Villiers) was accidentally kicked in his left eye by his son, due to which he started having trouble seeing and eventually he had to leave cricket.
Will AB de Villiers play IPL again?
In the show ‘Running Between The Wickets’, AB de Villiers has once again expressed his desire to return to cricket. He said-
“I can still play cricket. This is not an official confirmation but my children are pressuring me. I think I can go to the nets with him and my son can bowl with the bowling machine. If I feel good then I might play some casual cricket.”
However, when de Villiers was asked in detail about this, he refused to play in professional cricket or IPL. He gave a statement on this-
“Not IPL or South Africa tour. But I will try once again. Let me see if this eye (left one) still works but the right eye is absolutely fine. So I’m talking to my kids about it and see if I can enjoy cricket again, even if it’s very casual, and then we’ll see how far we can go with it.”
