Without Sanju Samson, 14 crore young players will lead Rajasthan Royals:

Delhi: Before the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), big news has come from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp. Rajasthan Royals have announced that in the first three matches of this season, the Ryan will captain the Parag team in place of Sanju Samson.

The team’s regular captain Sanju Samson has not received wicketkeeping approval from BCCI’s Center of Excellence (first NCA). So he will be part of the team as only one batsman or impact player in the opening matches.

The franchise said in its statement, “Sanju Samson, who is an important player of the team, will play as a batsman right now. When he gets approval for wicketkeeping and fielding, he will take over the captaincy again.”

Samson’s injury and recovery

Sanju Samson had a bouncer of Jofra Archer during the five -match T20I series against England, causing injury to his finger. After this, he underwent surgery and completed his rehabilitation at the Center of Excellence in Bangalore. On Monday, he participated in the first practice session of Rajasthan Royals.

Ryan Parag’s IPL Career

Ryan Parag performed brilliantly in his debut season and became the youngest player to score a half -century in 2019. In IPL 2022, he caught 17 catches and set the record for the most catches by a non-winner in the tournament.

This young all -rounder was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2019. Now for IPL 2025, they have been retained for Rs 14 crore.

Ryan Parag’s first match as captain will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 23 March. After this Rajasthan Royals will play two home matches – the first against Kolkata Knight Riders and the second against Chennai Super Kings, which will be in Guwahati.
