Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that Nepal will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier from 12 January to 2 February 2026. This 21 -day tournament will be played on two plains located in Mulpanani, Kathmandu. A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament, out of which four teams will qualify for the World Cup to be held in England and Wales.

Bangladesh and Ireland got the qualification already

Bangladesh and Ireland teams have already confirmed their place in this qualifier. Both these teams had participated in the women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai in 2024, which was the winner of New Zealand. For this reason, they have got direct entry into the qualifier.

The rest of the teams will be decided by regional qualifiers

The remaining eight teams will be selected through regional qualifiers. Among them, two teams from Africa, Asia and Europe, while East Asia-Pacific and one team from the US region will get a place. Thailand and host Nepal from Asia have already qualified, while the United States (USA) from the US has confirmed its place. Thus, a total of five teams have been decided so far – Bangladesh, Ireland, Thailand, Nepal and USA. The remaining five teams are yet to be selected.

There will be competition from group stage to final

In the tournament, the teams will be divided into two groups, each group will have five teams each. This will be followed by a super six stage and then the final match will be played. The entire schedule will announce the ICC soon.

Women’s T20 World Cup will be 2026 in England-Wails

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held in England and Wales from 12 June to 5 July. A total of 12 teams will participate in this 24 -day mega tournament and 33 matches will be played.

Seven major venue will be matched

The tournament will be on seven prestigious grounds, including Old Trafford of Manchester, Handingley of Leeds, Hampshire Bowl of Southampton and Bristol County Ground.
