Delhi: India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 from 29 September to 26 October this year. A big report has come out about this tournament. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, the final match of this World Cup can be played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullapur. The match of this tournament to be held in India will be played in Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur, Indore and Mullanpur.
Women international matches will be played for the first time on these grounds
No women international matches have been organized in Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur and Mullanpur so far. The Nehru Stadium in Indore has hosted two women ODIs, including the 1997 World Cup. This time, the match is likely to be played at Holkar Stadium in Indore. At the same time, six women T20 and five ODI matches have been played so far at ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The Indian women’s team played the last match here in 2014.
Hybrid model may have a tournament
So far, apart from hosts India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka have qualified for the tournament, while the last two teams will be fixed from the Women’s World Cup qualifiers, which will be played in Lahore from 9 April. If Pakistan qualify for this World Cup, the tournament can be held on the hybrid model. Under this, Pakistan matches can be held in Sri Lanka or UAE. Recently, the Champions Trophy was also organized on this model, because the Indian team did not go to Pakistan due to security reasons.
India has hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup in 1978, 1997 and 2013 three times earlier. This will be the first time since 2013, when this prestigious tournament will be held on the Indian land.
