Delhi: So far, two phases of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) have been completed. Although the final of the second third season is yet to be played, but this time the title match has been decided between Australia and South Africa. The final will be held in June, which will be played at Lord’s from 11 June. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has started preparing for the third phase of WTC, which will start from June this year.
The ICC is considering a new system, in which teams are likely to give bonus points. With this, the teams running below in the points table can give a better chance to return.
WTC’s third phase will start in June
The third phase of WTC will begin in June. Earlier, an important meeting of ICC is proposed in April, in which bonus points can be discussed. According to reports, if the meeting is agreed in the meeting, then this new rule can be implemented with a five -Test series between India and England.
According to the current rules, the winning team in a Test match gets 12 points, both teams are given 6-6 marks when tie, while in the event of a draw, 4-4 marks are found. However, according to a new report, if a team wins by a big margin or win by the innings, then it can be given additional bonus points.
If this system is applied, the teams will not only have to formulate a victory strategy, but also try to win by a huge margin, so that their position in the points table can be strengthened.
