Delhi: Mumbai’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to change his Ranji team. He has written an email to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and sought a no objection certificate (NOC), so that he can play for Goa from the next season.

Goa offers captaincy

According to reports, the Goa Ranji team has proposed to hand over the responsibility of captaincy to Jaiswal. Talking about this, Jaiswal said, “Mumbai has given me a lot. Whatever I am today, I am because of Mumbai. It was a difficult decision for me, but Goa has given me new responsibility, and I accepted it.”

Priority in Indian team

Jaiswal made it clear that his priority is to play for the Indian team, but when he is not in the national team, he will take the ground for Goa. He said, “My first goal is to perform well for India. When I do not stay in the national team, I will play for Goa and try to bring the team further in the tournament.”

First class cricket career

Jaiswal has played 36 First Class (FC) matches so far, in which he has scored 3712 runs. His highest score is 265 runs. In the last season, he played a Ranji match against Jammu and Kashmir for Mumbai, in which he could only score 4 and 26 runs.

The semi -finals were not played from Mumbai due to injury

Earlier this year, Jaiswal was not selected in India’s 2025 Champions Trophy team, but was placed in non-trimming substitutes. Subsequently, he was included in the Mumbai Ranji team, but just before the semi -finals he withdrew the name from the match citing ankle pain.
