Delhi: Indian team star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has paid a passionate tribute to West Indies explosives and Dhakad cricketer Nicholas Puran. Wicketkeeper Batter announced to retire from all formats of international cricket on June 10 at the age of 29.
Since this shocking decision of Puran, he is getting best wishes from the cricket world. Pant has also joined these emotions. The two players played together for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and it seems that there is a deep friendship between them.
Pant wrote for Puran on his Instagram story, “You have left your impression, brother – a true teammate, friend and sports powerhouse. Sharing the field with you was a matter of pride for me. For West Indies cricket, whatever you did, congratulate you for whatever you did. Many best wishes for your new innings.
Puran had a great performance in IPL 2025. He scored 524 runs in 14 matches for LSG, in which he hit 40 sixes and scored 5 half -centuries. On the other hand, Pant’s season was not special, but he definitely scored a century against RCB in the final match.
Nicholas never played Test cricket for the West Indies, but he was a prominent player in white ball cricket. He scored 1983 runs in 61 ODIs and 2275 runs in 106 T20I matches. Puran was appointed as the captain of the West Indies in 2022, but left the captaincy after a poor performance in the T20 World Cup in the same year.
